Aussie
Stitches is a sew and trim operation first established in 2002
in the
former Methodist Church building.
Eight
former Fairmark employees with the help of Donald Shire
councilors
and Graeme Harris approached the creditors of the Fairmark
company
to purchase the machinery and plant that was based in Donald.
The
proposal was accepted.
Today
Aussie Stitches Pty Ltd has seven partners employing up to fourteen
casual workers.
The
company is able to produce a variety of school shirts, business
shirts, polo shirts,
windcheaters,
track pants, corporate wear, as well as producing their own range
of
hard-wearing work shirts and polo tops.
All work
is done under contract or subcontract.
The only
work sold separately is our own brand of work shirts and polos.
All
employees are multi-skilled, being able to produce garments at competitive
prices,
with a range of, plain sewers, over lockers, buttonhole and
button
attaching machines, and cover stitch machine.
